Fuel Scarcity: Duport Modular Refinery To Start Selling Fuel This July

Fuel scarcity may be about to reduce in Nigeria. This is because a brand new modular refinery is coming on board this July, 2022 in Delta State. And more are also going to appear, according to a company, Duport Midstream Company Limited.

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has confirmed that a brand new oil refinery, the Duport modular refinery will start selling fuel to Nigerian petrol stations in July 2022.

What are modular refineries? Modular refineries are crude oil processing refineries with capacities of up to 30,000 barrel per day. That may not be much, but our people say ‘at all at all na him worse pass’.

According to the company, all that remains is government approval for the refinery to start producing petrol. And they say they even have more refineries that will soon start if government approves. Government, you had better approve.

Igbodefender has for years been asking government to approve and help set-up modular refineries, as a way of creating jobs and reducing the price of fuel and fuel scarcity.

Also, we have long pointed out that the black soot that makes people sick in Rivers State will drastically reduce if the so-called illegal refineries are encouraged to become regulated modular refineries.

We encourage the Federal Government to actively encourage entrepreneurs running so-called illegal refineries to become regulated modular refineries.

If Dangote mega refinery can come on board, combined with modular refineries all over the place, the price of petrol will be more manageable for Nigerians, and fuel scarcity would become a thing of the past.
