Trump Pounds Bill Clinton in New Attacks

Donald Trump pounds Bill Clinton in new attacks

These are not the best of times to be Bill Clinton. This is because, Republican warrior Donald Trump, having vanquished his Republican rivals with his incendiary words, has finally set sights on his Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton … through her husband.

Trump has made it clear that he would attack not just Hillary Clinton but also her husband, Bill who is one-half of a power couple that has long dreamed of becoming the first husband and wife presidents in US history.

On the attacks, a vengeful Trump, who has labelled Hillary Clinton ‘crooked Hillary’, and has 8 million Twitter followers listening to his every word had this to say.

“They said things about me which were very nasty. And I don’t want to play that game at all. I don’t want to play it — at all. But they said things about me that were very nasty,” Trump told The Washington Post in an interview.

“And, you know, as long as they do that, you know, I will play at whatever level I have to play at. I think I’ve proven that.”

As election season heats up, these users will surely see more proof from Trump.

The Clintons on their part are sticking to the high road, and not trying to get into a gutter fight with the extra combative Trump. But how will that help them?

The Republican Party’s road to the 2016 presidential ticket is riddled with the graves of politically correct candidates that used the usual cool, calm, presidential approach to respond to Trump, and got roasted in the process.

For instance, a lot of people had expected the Republican ticket to be handed to Jeb Bush in a coronation, but hurricane Trump happened, and presidential, calm, no-gutter-language Jeb Bush is now political history – at least for now.

People like Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz that tried to play on any level like Donald Trump got a fighting chance. But for the Clintons like Jeb Bush, descending to the gutters where Donald Trump doesn’t mind fighting in would be branding death. Voters wouldn’t be able to understand a Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton using gutter language.

When the Donald uses the same kind of colourful language, the same voters just laugh it off.

Bottom line is that in a season when the presidency looks more like a WWF Royal Rumble than a dignified jousting contest between politically correct political royalty, the crown will easily go to Donald Trump – that is unless the Clintons are able to Risk getting really ‘high energy’.

But I just don’t see Bill Clinton however much Trump attacks him, putting on his boxing gloves to slug it out with Donald Trump. That would be so funny. I only see Trump endlessly firing salvos at the Clintons, and silence on the other side.

Hope Chelsea Clinton is taking notes.
