Mazi Kaycee Madu Appointed Justice Minister In Alberta, Canada

Mazi Kaycee Madu, has been appointed as the justice minister and solicitor general of the Canadian province of Alberta.

Madu was born in the Igbo speaking part of Nigeria 47 years ago. He and his wife relocated from Nigeria to Canada in 2005. Within 15 years he has achieved this feat.

Praising Madu, Premier Jason Kenney on Tuesday said the appointment of Mr Madu makes a powerful statement at a time when Albertans have grown more sensitive to racial prejudice.

He said: “[Madu] is a man who has experienced racial prejudice firsthand and can bring that sensitivity to this important role.”

We at Igbo Defender congratulate Mazi Madu. We charge him to represent Ndigbo well by following the highest ideals of Ndigbo.
