Former US House Speaker Unloads On Ted Cruz

These are not the best of times for Ted Cruz. Since Donald Trump captured all five states up for grabs on Tuesday, Cruz’s campaign has been struggling. So, he didn’t need the missile former US House Speaker, John Boehner hauled at him, calling him Lucifer, and saying a couple of nasty things about him.

Hear Boehner:

“I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

Earlier on in his campaign, Ted Cruz would have taken this sort of criticism from a former House Speaker and therefore member of the so-called establishment member as a chance to point out to the grassroots how much the Republican establishment hates his guts.

But now that his main supporters are the establishment-inspired #Never Trump Movement, saying doing a thing would be political suicide, as far as his efforts to stop Trump from getting the nomination are concerned.

Boehner added that he and Donald Trump are ‘texting buddies’, a sign that the Republican insiders are not as united against Trump as the #NeverTrump movement would have people believe.

So instead of a strongly worded message, Cruz had this to say in response to Boehner’s jibe:

“Tell me again who will stand up to Washington? Trump, who’s Boehner’s “texting and golfing buddy,” or Carly [Fiorina his VP choice] & me?”

Meanwhile, as the days go by, watch out for more ‘surprise endorsements of Donald Trump.
