Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has hailed social media as a powerful force. Taking to Twitter, he told the story of how an aunty of his once called him to ask him why he resigned. She had seen news of his resignation of Twitter.

Despite all his reassurances to her that he had not resigned, she still insisted he had because ‘she had read it on WhatsApp’.

He said:

My elderly Aunt called me in February just before the elections and asked why I resigned. I told her I didn’t but she was convinced and insisted I did because she had read it on WhatsApp.
