Buhari Slams Nigerian Elite For Failing To Educate Poor People

“I think Nigerian elite we are all failing because I think we should have a programme that will at least guarantee some basic education for our people no matter how poor they are.” – President Muhammadu Buhari

Basic education should be available for every Nigerian, rich or poor. When you have a generally educated population it shows in many ways. When you have a generally uneducated population, …

it severely limits the abilities of the society.

Education isn’t just about going to school. It is also about increasing knowledge from your activities in school. That means resisting the temptation to cheat, even when we might think we can easily get away with it.

What will it profit a human being to go to school and get certified but without the requisite knowledge? Selah.

Yesterday, I posted about how Mazi Osita Chidoka persuaded Prince Arthur Ezen’Upko to start a university.

This statement by Buhari, coming in the wake of Mazi Chidoka’s announcement is very welcome.

Our elite should start schools or donate to already existing ones to increase the quality of our education.
