Trade war about to enter negotiated settlement phase as Trump softens tone versus China
We had earlier said the trade war would not really happen. Trump and China were simply sizing each other up. Trump was also sending a message to Helmsman Xi Jumping that any moves to empire by China could be very costly.
The aim of that move is to dampen down Xi’s confidence as he tries to launch China into his new era of geopolitical power.
That would have been lovely.
