Not many people are aware that there are Igbos in Cross River State. One of such communities are the Agbo, who are Igbo people indigenous to Cross River State. They speak the Legbo dialect of Igbo and share a lot with the people of Izzi in Ebonyi State.
According to a source, a river is what separated them from Arochukwu. They have such towns as Igbo Ekureku, Adadama, Itigidi and Igbo Imabana.
A famous Legbo is fomer Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State.
your defense on this topic is useless ok so they speak Igbo can you please tell me common Igbo words used in both Igbo language and legbo language
Silva, Igbo is diverse, even ebonyi and abia people i do not understand most of their dialects does that mean they are not igbo?, there are more than 20 different dialects of igbo language. The central igbo you even know is mostly from the Nri areas with a mix if other dialects.
Okay
Alright
Just hearing this for the first time but I’m not surprised since they are only seperated by river.
It’s just a similar case to Ndoki in Rivers State and Ohambele in Abia State, same people, same tradition and culture but different states.
