To me, this can be interpreted to mean; if one prepares well, they will be able to face unexpected obstacles that appear on the way.

If one plans ahead, they will not go and do dorime with their last card.

Exactly. For your Plan A, have a Plan B, and even a Plan C. One way to do this is to ask yourself ‘what will happen if this (Plan A) fails?’

And remember that in engineering, 2 (plans) = 1, and 3 (plans) = 2.
