How Nigerian asylum seekers who crossed over to Canada from US got stranded

Reports reaching Zikist Movement indicate that Nigerians who took advantage of the open border between US and Canada to cross over might be in for a tough time.

Many of them may have hoped for a better life. But now, they are probably regretting.

These Nigerians learned that Canada, a developed country, had very friendly asylum rules but tough visa rules.

Canada also has need for immigrants to fill jobs due to its low population.

So, they hatched a plan: they would go to the US with visiting visas and then cross over into Canada. It worked for some time, until the Canadians noticed.

Now Canada is angry. Many if these guys have tried to escape back to the US to at least live there illegally without papers.

But Uncle Sam’s border guards have been manning the borders with eagle eyes.

The US visiting visas of these guys have expired (they never knew the Canadian authorities would get so tough, and had begun to settle down in Ottawa, Ontario, etc.). They didn’t return to Nigeria before their US visiting visas expired.

Now, these guys would have found it easier to simply return to Nigeria their country.

But alas, some have sold their lands, houses and cars and quit their former jobs in Nigeria.

So now, they are between a rock and a hard place.

Corruption has really stunted growth in this country and damaged lives. If not, many of these stranded Nigerians would not be in the immigration mess they are currently in.

One lesson for Nigerians wishing to emigrate is this: Try to follow the rules. People wise up to tricks sooner or later.
