“For me to have come here shows that the Attah Igala is a great man. It shows that he is a respected person. I have come because this is my root. I come from here. I come to reconnect.” – Igbo Nollywood actress Rita Edochie speaks on her Igala roots at the 3rd anniversary of the coronation of the Attah Igala.

We have always said here that Igbos are collection of diverse people with one Great culture. This is because Igbo culture is a culture that welcomes other to bia fara. That is to come and join. In the Southern Igbo areas you also have people with great Ijaw and Ibibio connections. For instance, the Ndoki people have great Ijaw connections. The Aro people have great Ibibio connections.
What binds Igbos together is not necessarily a common ancestor but rather a common culture forged together by a great ancestor and his equally great partners.
