Oil pipeline burnt in Delta just after Osinbajo’s visit

In what is being interpreted as a response by militants to the recent visit of Vice President Osinbajo to restive areas of the Niger Delta, an oil pipeline has been burnt down in Ughelli, in the Urhobo area of Delta State.

This is coming after Urhobo traditional rulers walked out on the Vice President over a perceived slight from the Ijaw leaders in a joint meeting with the Vice President. The Vice President had gone to Delta State as part of efforts to promote peace in the oil rich Niger Delta.
