In Nigeria, iron condemn is used to describe metal material that is no longer useful and therefore sold as scrap. Normally, these may include worn out parts from cars and other machines.
But recently a big plane, an Airbus A320 jet has joined the list of items sold as scrap to a yet-to-be-identified buyer.
Background
Sources say the plane, which was in the fleet of First Nations airline, is no longer serviceable, hence it can not fly passengers any more. It is reported to have been sold at less than N50 million.
The towing of the plane through Lagos roads caused a stir, as many have never seen a plane on a road. There were also speculations that the plane has crashed. But that speculation was quickly put to rest by Nigeria’s aviation agency.
That plane is better as a restaurant on the ground than a plane in the air.
Lol
Wow! Nothing lasts forever. The plane has ended it’s career on air just like that.
@cake that is true we even appreciate Nigeria aviation this time for not acting in there previous way of management that would cost the life and properties of Nigerians to lost in crashing
It is no longer an aeroplane but now a land-o-plane
Lol
Reminds me of how I sold my old car as iron condemn. LoL.
It is better condemned than putting it at risk.
