The Nigerian Army has announced that it recently destroyed 74 ‘illegal’ petrol refinarias in the Niger Delta, and I think that is just wrong! At a time when petroleum marketers are planning to increase the price of petrol, the best thing would have been to legalize what these folks are doing, as they can help to meet one of the most acute demands facing the country – demand for cheap petrol.
The government doesn’t necesarily have to spend billions in every sector for change to be successful. If they can remove some of the policies that bring hardship to the people, they will go a long way.
