It is very good news that the National Agricultural Credit Fund (NACF) bill has passed Second Reading in the Nigerian Senate. I don’t know the details of the bill yet, but I think it is self-explanatory (a credit fund for agriculture in the nation).
That brings me to the issue of how to stop grazing. Instead of establishing grazing reserves with people’s ancestral lands, the government should give loans to the herdsmen to Buy Land From Willing Sellers and establish Commercial Cattle Ranches.
As far as I’m concerned, the most urgent credit the fund should give is the loan to herdsmen to establish commercial farms.
Agreed
Will the herders accept loans?
