In the normal wards where sick elders are treated, their are pathogens flying about in the air.

These pathogens are flying about from the bodies of ill elderly patients who have more-or-less developed some form of resistance to the illness that brought them to the hospital.

But the children have not developed much resistance, and if they come into contact with those pathogens, it might be dangerous to their health. Like fighting a war with an umbrella or going to farm with a spoon instead of a hoe.

They could be contacting pathogens that are causing illness in the bodies of elders.

So, the next time you feel like taking your children to the general ward to see that recovering elder, think long and hard about what the children may be getting into. Just an advice, but you could consider explaining to the elder why it is unsafe for the kids to see them in that environment.

A lot of hospitals would even warn you against letting the kids in. But then, some might not. That’s why I’m telling you now, so you know what’s up.
