Water And Sugar, Can Be Used For Breastfeeding By Malnourished Mothers

I was watching a BBC documentary on Venezuela during its current harsh economic times. The correspodent was interviewing a malnourished nursing mother and the mother started breastfeeding her baby with water mixed with sugar, explaining that she was doing so because she couldn’t produce breastmilk.

Should you feed your child water and sugar in place of breastmilk? You decide. But I have told you what one woman used as a substitute. The knowledge may help in certain situations.
