Toyin Aimakhu did really great when her efforts led to the raising of millions of naira for the treatment of Mayowa Ahmed, a lady stricken down with cancer.
Even though there was eventually a lot of controversy between Toyin and Mayowa’s family about the money raised, Toyin’s effort brought funds and hope to an issue that seemed hopeless.

Silver and gold, we have not. But what we have on this site is the ability to draw publicly to the good that Toyin has done.
Now Mayowa’s family has the funds to take Toyin abroad for treatment.
Nigerian celebrities should imitate Toyin Aimakhu and actively help the less privileged. Nigerian celebrities should see themselves as a last hope of the common people. There is a lot they can do with their celebrity power. They can mobilize their fans for good causes.
The eventual winner of Zikist Movement’s Person Of The Year Award will be announced in December (in keeping with our tradition as a site within the IgboDefender.com Network.
But we feel we shouldn’t wait to announce the nomination of Toyin Aimaku, a woman with a heart of gold.
