In a recent visit to the Governor of the coal rich Igbo state, Enugu l, Nigeria’s Federal minister in charge of mining said, “We are encouraging states to set up special purpose vehicles”, where “they can form their own company, acquire licenses, go into mining, either on their own or partnership with other agencies”.
I believe Igbo states and indeed all states of Nigeria, can use this model to develop the mining industries in their states.
