An Ashburn resident accused of over-speeding in a fatal accident has come before the Loudoun General District Court on Tuesday.
A preliminary hearing has been set for 1 p.m. on Oct. 5 for Ryan Christopher Lanza, aged 22, of the 20000 block of Hollyberry Court.
He’s been freed on bond. He was charged charged with involuntary manslaughter. According to court records, Tuesday’s hearing was originally meant to be a preliminary hearing. A criminal complaint stated that the accident happened around 11:15 a.m. on May 5 at the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Windmill Drive in Ashburn.
The report said Lanza was driving north on Clairborne in a 2016 Subaru WRX when he crashed with a 2006 Honda Civic driven by Deborah Denise Michel.
Deborah had stopped at a stop sign at Windmill and was turning left into the southbound lane of Claiborne when Lanza hit her on the front driver’s side door of the Honda. Sadly, Michel was pronounced dead at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
Eww… Such a sad story. May Michel soul rest in peace.
May the soul of the dead rest in peace. Amen
Amen
May her soul rest in peace
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Amen
