The younger brother of late Isiaka Adeleke, Demola who is also the father star singer Davido, on Wednesday emerged the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the July 8 bye election in Osun West Senatorial District.
Adeleke, who left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for PDP on Tuesday night, scored 343 votes .
Two candidates – a former Minister of Youth Development, Senator Olasunkanmi Akinlabi, and a retired army colonel, Olayiwola Falabi, earlier cleared for the primary on Tuesday night, stepped down for Adeleke.
If Demola Adeleke wins the general election, his family will join the Sarakis, Tinubus and other families that dominate politucs the way royal families dpminate thrones.
