Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff is to stand trial after the Senate voted to impeach her and suspend her from her presidential duties. Ms Rousseff stands accused of illegally manipulating finances in order to hide a growing public deficit ahead of her re-election in 2014. Ms Rouseseff denies any wrongdoing.
