The Anambra State Government has lunched a cow rearing business known using Efi-Igbo, the Igbo variety of cattle. The cows are ranched in a computer-regulated atmosphere.
Sources say Innoson Cattle is coming onboard. Obijackson of Okija is reported to have secured almost 1000 hectares of land for cattle ranching.
Also reports state that Capital Oil is in negotiations with Israelis to kickstart cattle ranching.
It seems that all things being equal, Efi Igbo variety of cattle, is about to become more available in dinner tables.
The government and businessmen should use the new African free trade agreement to export Efi Igbo to African countries.
