World Trade Organization DG: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Now The Only Candidate

South Korea’s candidate for the Director-Generalship of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Yoo Myung-Hee has withdrawn her candidacy. This leaves former Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as the only remaining candidate.

You might hear that she has been appointed to the big post soon. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is among a group of Nigerian women of Igbo stock who have been World Bank Vice Presidents. Oby Ezekwesili and Arunmah Oteh and have also been Vice Presidents of the global bank.
