Sitting too much is bad for your health, but offsetting the impact is easy, study shows | CNN

A sedentary lifestyle has been blamed for aiding the onset of many diseases. And yet, many jobs force people to mostly sit. Those Who love watching the television or pressing their phones also sit a lot. But a study suggests how to balance out the sitting/moving-around imbalance in order to help people fight the risk of disease.

Five minutes of light walking every half hour can help alleviate some of the increased risk that comes with sitting for long stretches of the day, according to the study published Thursday in the journal of the American College of Sports Medicine.
