Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong has announced he will take a week of leave after he fainted while addressing the nation on Sunday. The Prime Minister had been speaking for hours during the National Day when, suddenly he started swaying and then gripped the podium.
Sweat was pouring down his face, and his faced turned blank as he started to fall. The country’s Defence Minister, however, saved the situation by catching his fall, before he was rushed out to hospital.
Our thoughts are with the Prime Minister, who comes from a respected political dynasty. His decision to take time to rest is a very good one, because rest in itself is a very effective medicine.
