Nigerian asked to forfeit $310, 000 he did not declare at airport

For not declaring $310, 500 to Customs at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, a traveller, Efosa Eriamiantoe, has been asked to forfeit the money to the Federal Government.

Is the punishment too harsh, given our harsh economic times, or does Efosa deserve it?
