I can’t fathom why Civil Defence will be boasting of destroying 250 ‘illegal’ refineries when the price of kerosene and LPG used for cooking gas is rising beyond the reach of most Nigerian families.

As far as I am concerned, that is bad news. None of the 3 official refineries is working, and you are destroying the little ones that are functioning because they have no voice to cry out for them!

Is it because they come from a particular section of the country? I have said over and  over here that these so-called ‘illegal refineries ‘should be legalised.

Give them a certificate and then monitor them to ensure standards and safety. That’s all.

Things are getting harder for so many Nigerians. Those in power should not make it harder, for goodness sake!
