Ikeja Model City Plan: NGO calls for creation of dedicated hub for non profit sector

The Prince And Princess Charles Offokaja Foundation, an NGO, has called on the Lagos State Government to include provision of a dedicated complex for non profit organizations to enhance the emergence of Ikeja as a non profit hub, and enable NGOs better partner with government in the area of creating sustainable development.

Speaking at a Stakeholders Meeting between officials of the Lagos Ministry of Urban Development and stakeholders, the Director General of the organization, Prince Charles Offokaja, observed that the input of NGOs was crucial in enabling government realize its developmental objectives. Responding, the spokesman of the Ministry stated that the proposal would be included in the final draft of the Ikeja Model City Plan.

The Offokaja Foundation is a Non Profit, Non Governmental Organization that works in the areas of Health, Education and Socio Economic Development in Nigeria and beyond.

Those present in the Stakeholders Meeting included the Honorable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Architect Abiola Anifowoshe, as well as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Physical Planning and Urban Development, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Regional Development.
