President of Ohaneze Lagos Branch, Chief Solomon Ogbonna has described the Ooni of Ife as a peacemaker, following his recent statements about Igbo historical links with Ile Ife.
According to a report by Leadership.ng, Chief Ogbonna stated thus, “My response when Ooni made the statement that Igbo are from Ile-Ife was: ‘Whatever will bring peace between Igbo and other tribes, including Yoruba, is agreeable to me.’
“It is one of Ooni’s styles of advocating unity and peace among Igbo and Yoruba.
“It is pertinent to note that His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, is an ambassador and advocate of peace.
“He demonstrated this sterling quality shortly after his coronation by meeting with the Alaafin of Oyo.”
Recall that the Ooni of Ife recently made statements that confirm what we have said here for years; that Igbos were the aborigines of Ife, and that they were led by Obatala, whose titles included Oba Igbo and Osere Igbo.
Ooni of Ife also charged Igbo scholars to uncover more facts regarding there ancient links to Ile Ife and to attend the Aje Festival, noting that Igbos were the first to find wealth.
