These days, we hear of hackers hacking into people’s WhatsApp account and using the account to try to dupe others. This can lead to the hacker securing sensitive information from friends/relatives of the victim or tarnishing the victim’s good name.
Fortunately, you now have two-way verification that makes it almost impossible for a hacker to easily hack your account with today’s technology.
So, here are the steps to protect your WhatsApp account enabling two-step verification:
1. In your WhatsApp click on Settings. 2. When it opens, click on Account
3. When that opens click on Two-Step Verification.
You will then be prompted to enter a 6-digit PIN of your choice twice; and then a recovery email address of your choice twice.
If they both match, you will be notified that Two-Step Verification has been enabled. When you click Done, you’ll get a prompt to put in the 6 digit PIN you just entered. Once you do that, they’ll take you go back to your interesting chats.
That’s it! Your WhatsApp account will now have the added Two-Step Verification enabled and hackers won’t be able to easily hack your account unlike before.
This security measure takes less than 5 minutes to set up. Did I say 5 minutes? More like 2 minutes. No, under a minute!
