The only current approved treatment for glaucoma is to lower intraocular pressure (IOP), which can be achieved with eyedrops, laser, or through surgical intervention.

Overview:
A group of eye conditions that can cause blindness.
With all types of glaucoma, the nerve connecting the eye to the brain is damaged, usually due to high eye pressure.- 0
Symptoms
Requires a medical diagnosis
The most common type of glaucoma (open-angle glaucoma) often has no symptoms other than slow vision loss. Angle-closure glaucoma, although rare, is a medical emergency and its symptoms include eye pain with nausea and sudden visual disturbance. - 0
CAUSES
Glaucoma is the result of damage to the optic nerve. As this nerve gradually deteriorates, blind spots develop in your visual field. For reasons that doctors don’t fully understand, this nerve damage is usually related to increased pressure in the eye.
