Fayose condemns attack of Ekweremadu in Germany

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose has condemned the attack on former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu by some Nigerians in Germany.

The internet has been awash with reports, videos and images of Ekweremadu being rough-handled in Germany.

Ekweremadu had gone to the Igbo new yam festival being held in the German city of Nuremberg. It was at the festival that he was assaulted.

Peter Fayose wrote on his Twitter handle “Attackers of Ekweremadu,a defender of democracy who symbolizes courage & decency, are miscrants who don’t deserve a place in a civilized society. It is an assault against the Igbos and Nigerians in general. To me, those “Igbo touts” demonstrated that pigs have no value for gold.”

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports state that some of those who attacked Ekweremadu have been arrested.
