Edo State to create special electricity centres where small businesses can get steady electricity supply

The Governor of Edo State, Chief Godwin Obaseki, has just announced that his government will create special electricity processing centres where small businesses can get steady electricity supply for their business.

The ordinary Edo people will benefit from this power arrangement because there is an arrangement to drop power in certain processing centres where artisans can move into and do their businesses with the assurance of steady power supply.”

Now, if this is implemented it would go a long way to reduce business costs for many small businesses in Edo State – no need to buy expensive fuel if power is cut.

But to make it a more assured success, the Edo State Government has to find a way to reduce transport costs to these centres – I suggest buying more busses for public transport.

Otherwise, public transport costs might stop some small businesses from taking advantage of the opportunity.

Also, Igbanke, the Igbo speaking part of Edo State must benefit, to reduce its marginalization in the Edo State.
