Brekete Radio Boss Suspends N18 Billion Fundraiser For ASUU

The head of Brekete Radio, the human rights outfit in Abuja, has suspended the multi-billion naira fundraiser he had started to in order to give to the striking academic union ASUU, so the ongoing strike in universities can end. Recall that ASUU has accused the Federal Government of not keeping to it’s promises to them over salary increase.

The ‘Ordinary President’ of Brekete Radio as he is known, suspended the donation after ASUU said they cannot accept the money because if they do, the public will criticize them for accepting it.

ASUU National President who was at the radio station, rejected the monetary gift. He however asked the ‘Ordinary President’ to channel the money to development of universities.

Do you think ASUU should have accepted the donation which had risen to above N50 million before it was rejected?

  1. Donating now is not the answer. What happens if they donate now and then tomorrow, there is a new issue over payment?

People will say they collected donations the last time, so why are they complaining again?

They will forget that maybe the donation wasn’t neven enough.
