According to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, inside the Ooni’s Palace is a sacred burial ground called Ile Igbo or House of Igbo.
While receiving the Lagos President of the Igbo socio cultural group Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Solomon Ogbonna, recently, the Ooni disclosed that Ile Igbo is both the royal burial ground of Oonis, and the mythical place where kolanut was first discovered.

It will be recalled that the Ooni had recently pointed out to Oluyare Compound as being an important Aboriginal compound of the Igbos of Ile Ife.
