“If you go to Ogbunike by Nkwelle Ezunaka junction, you begin to see industrial park, shoe manufacturing industrial cluster that was established by ASBA with over 1000 shops, having functional facilities to stand the test of time.
The above quote is from the MD of Anambra State Small Business Agency, ASBA, Mazi Clement Chukwuka.
According to him, Anambra State won an award as most supportive state for SMEs last year, and when aproached by a very impressed Federal Government to make a request over the award, the State Government wasted no time in asking for shoe making equipment to be imported and handed to it.
He says the Federal Government has already ordered the requested equipment.
Chukwuka also reveals in the link that the state is currently training 600 artisans in shoe and clothing manufacturing to make the scheme a success.
If the Abia State Government can clean up Aba, Igbo Land will have two resilient shoe and garment clusters in the near future.
With the African Continental Free Trade Agreement here now, Nigeria can become a major supplier of shoe and clothing to Africa. We can compete with Italy in shoe and clothing in we are serious about this.
A journey of a thousand steps starts with one step. A big thank you to all those that made this dream a reality. Kudos to the visionary governor of Anambra State. Bravo to our Igbo guys. Jidenu ka unu ji.
God bless you.
Chukwu gozie Ala Igbo.
Ndigbo Kwenu! On unity we stand!
Nnewi and Aba, and now Ogbunike is incoming. Let the industrialization of Igboland continue!
This is very impressive!
Good luck to them.
