Acquiring skill(s) and obtaining degree which is better these days ?

Both are good. You can push both and see where one will get you.

For instance, if you are a good comedian, you can pursue your career on YouTube while studying. Certificate still matters for fallback option,respect and knowledge gained can come back to help you when you least expect or in ways you can’t imagine. My own personal opinion is: study for certificate and develop the skill if you have the time and if you can.
