Acting President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has commended the Inspiring Equianoism of Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu which is typified in his dogged approach in promoting Made-in-Aba goods, saying that Nigeria would stop relying on China for manufactured goods if the Igbo manufacturing centre of Aba was given national priority.
Osinbajo also said Aba was “very strategic and important to the country in terms of manufacturing and production.”
The Acting President said this when he received a delegation of top functionaries from Abia State, led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investments, Okey Enalemah at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
Earlier Governor Ikpeazu, who has taken on the role of ‘Salesman-in-Chief’ of Made In Aba goods had lobbied for artisans from Aba to be given the business of producing NYSC uniforms. He had high quality samples to back up his statements.
