What’s your favorite poem growing up?
Mine was “Early to bed, early to rise. Makes a man healthy, wealthy and strong”
So what’s yours.

I enjoy reading The Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner, and The Night Of Christ’s Nativity, two very long poems.
I also enjoy Shrub Among The Poplars by Christopher Okigbo. And it reads…
FOR HE WAS a shrub among the poplars
Needing more roots
More sap to grow to sunlight
Thirsting for sunlightA low growth among the forest.
Into the soul
The selves extended their branches
Into the moments of each living hour
Feeling for audienceStraining thin among the echoes;
And out of the solitude
Voice and soul with selves unite
Riding the echoesHorsemen of the apocalypse;
And crowned with one self
The name displays its foliage,
Hanging lowA green cloud above the forest.

Another favourite was: There were 2 little black birds sitting on the wall. One named Peter, one named Paul, fly away Peter, fly away Paul. Fly away 2 little black birds and sit on the wall.😀
