      Happiness is that feeling that comes over you when you know life is good and you can’t help but smile. It’s the opposite of sadness. Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel happiness.

      Sometimes, riches can buy happiness. Other times, riches can’t.

      But one of the simplest ways to be happy is to smile. It is said to be an instant mood booster.

      Being Happy is when you are CONTENDED with what you have. Either large or little, you are just ok. That’s how I see HAPPINESS

I agree with you that happiness can be found in one been contended with what he or she has but then the issue is one cannot be contended.

      While it is true that prisons and hospitals have a lot of sadness associated with them, there are sometimes cases if happiness too. For instance, a person who smiles on their deathbed because they believe they’re going to Heaven; and a person in prison chains who accepts that they are serving time for their crime amd have decided to change. It sometimes appears that such people feel a sense of inner peace that is more like happiness than like sadness.

      @omaonu
      You are right in many cases, but in hospital, the happiness of a patient who has successfully undergone surgery can sometimes surpass the happiness if someone who is not even in hospital.

      @cake yes, only few people rejoice in hospital such as people that give birth successfully, and the example you gave too but majority of people that are in hospital are not happy.

      You are right. Many in hospitals are not happy. Many are hopeful instead.

      I think you have a point: Many in hospitals are sad due to illness and death. A number are happy because of births and recovery. Others hang in the middle, being hopeful.
