Nintendo: from game card manufacturing in 1889 to video games today

The article I linked to tells the story of several Japanese businesses that have lasted for centuries. For instance, the worlds oldest hotel (opened in 705 and still thriving today).

The article investigates what has made Japanese businesses last so long. I must say Japan seems to be connected to longevity. The world’s oldest person is also Japanese.

Anyway, do read the article here https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20200211-why-are-so-many-old-companies-in-japan

Trump’s total aqcuittal versus Clinton’s censorship

The BBC has contrasted President Trump’s celebratory post aqcuital speech with President Bill Clinton’s apologetical speech after he survived impeachment in 1999. The BBC wrote:

Mr Trump’s post-acquittal celebration contrasted with President Bill Clinton’s address in 1999, when the impeached Democratic president offered a sombre apology to the American people.

“I want to say again to the American people how profoundly sorry I am for what I said and did to trigger these events and the great burden they have imposed on the Congress and on the American people,” Mr Clinton said.

There is a difference between both impeached President’s acquittals. In Clinton’s case, he was censored, while in Trump’s case, ot is something he describes as ‘total acquittal’. He wasn’t even censored.

Both Presidents Clinton and Trump presided over great leaps in technology. President Clinton presided over the rise of the world wide web, while President Trump is presiding over the ongoing rise of the blockchain.

As Nancy Pelosi tears up Trump’s speech

Shakespeare is long dead, but he once observed, ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’.

Trump refusing to take Nancy’s outstretched hand was a scorn that made Nancy Pelosi burn with ice cold fury. And she tore his speech ro tatters.

The impeachment effort she led against Trump is about to fail. That would have added to Nancy’s fury. Trump has a good chance of being reelected if the current Iowa Democratic Caucus fiasco repeats itself.

All in all, this is a clear sign that US politics is getting very heated and should be cooled down – the politicians should be cool about things for the sake of the ‘ordinary’ American.
