Amazon Kicks After Loosing $10bn AI ‘Jedi’ Contract To Microsoft

Amazon felt confident it would snag the AI Jedi defence cloud computing contract based on its number one position in cloud computing services.

Reacting, Amazon stated that a “detailed assessment purely on the comparative offerings” would “clearly lead to a different conclusion”.

But the US Defence Department, the Pentagon, in its statement said all offers “were treated fairly”.

As it stands, Microsoft is now a defence contractor. The Jedi contract would help the US Defence Department store sensitive data on the cloud. Microsoft is also set to benefit from the Deos contract, another lucrative contract within the Defence sector.
